The Promise Foundation’s inaugural event, held in 2010, at the Indian Trail Club in Franklin Lakes, NJ, raised over $100,000 and attracted over 400 donors, primarily from northern New Jersey.

To continue our efforts, we held another successful fundraiser at the Indian Trail Club on Friday, April 29, 2011, raising over $75,000. We celebrated “The 80’s,” with a surprise “Pop legend”. Funds raised through this celebration were absolutely vital to continuing our efforts to fund the fight against melanoma.

This year, our primary fundraiser will be held at The Ridgewood Country Club, Paramus, NJ on Friday, May 11th. For more information contact thepromise@promisefoundation.org

Partnership with John Theurer Cancer Center at Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC)
The “Skin Cancer Prevention Campaign” includes two large-scale community events, which offer free screenings and education on the early detection of melanoma. The first of these was held on June 2, 2011, and attracted the maximum of 125 participants. We look forward to our second free screening which will be held at the John Theurer Cancer Center on May 17, 2012. Middle School Melanoma Awareness Program
In May 2011, 1,400 students at Ridgewood, NJ's middle schools participated in an educational program about melanoma and safe sun exposure. The program included a poster contest and the distribution of sunscreen and goody bags. This program will be expanded to middle schools in Franklin Lakes and Ho-Ho-Kus in 2012.

Educational Kiosks at Community Sporting Events
We plan to have education tents at community sporting events.
